NWA 5958 Ungrouped Carbonaceous Chondrite Meteorite

NWA 5958 Ungrouped Carbonaceous Chondrite Meteorite
NWA 5958 is a unique, highly unequilibrated, ungrouped carbonaceous chondrite meteorite possessing extreme isotopic signatures. Oxygen isotopes measured for bulk subsamples plot closer to values for the Sun than any other known meteorite! This remarkable specimen should hold important information about the nature and variety of materials in the earliest solar nebula. NWA 5958 is a very special early solar system sample!

Continuing study in many labs around the world includes careful microanalysis of separated chondrules and microscopic grains. Dr. Tony Irving states that, "The superior freshness of this new specimen makes it a very attractive candidate for such detailed work".
